House Monsters Travis Purrington is currently working on a website but you can find his cute retro monsters on his myspace page. I can't wait to see more!
Back in July, I posted a link to an offer for 5 free issues of Elle Decor magazine. I just got my first issue! If anyone else signed up, you should be getting your first issue very soon!
These white planting pots are sooo cute! I know the picture above doesn't really do them justice but I just saw some the other day at my friends mom's place and they looked great! Some almost looked like they were made by Orla Kiely. The pots come in all different sizes and range in price from $1.99 to $24.99.
I've been shopping at my local Stop And Shop lately, and I've noticed more and more people using those Stop And Shop green reusable bags instead of the usual paper or plastic bags. Also, did you know that starting March 15, all IKEA stores in the US will charge a nickel per plastic bag in an effort to get people to use reusable bags? IKEA will be selling its reusable 'Big Blue Bag' (pictured above) for 59 cents.
I was so happy about all this environmenteering, and then I realized I was still using plastic bags! So it's time to look into purchasing some cloth bags: "I'm NOT a plastic bag" by Anya Hindmarch has been all the rage for months. Her website says she is sold out, but you can still find the bags on Ebay.
And if following trends is not for you (or if you just hate trendy-ism altogether) the "I'm NOT a smug twat" bag may be just the thing. Hilarious!
I just recently purchased a salt and pepper shaker from Neutrino Designs. I picked pattern #1 (the one on the top right, above), which reminds me of scientific imagery from the 1950's. I can't wait until it shows up!
Shop Ursula
I also bought a small cute yellow vase from Shop Ursula's Etsy Shop. I'm so in the mood to go to a flea market now and buy more stuff! :)
These are just the coolest, I'm really loving the fabrics! Dollybags was created by Olga and Maria who create limited edition designs using mainly original vintage fabrics, how very retro cool! They also have an Etsy shop.
Are you tired of looking at that ratty old cat scratching post? Well check out this cool and modern new approach by artist Susan Kravolec. It's a wall mounted cat tree made with 16 gauge steel, corrugated cardboard and has hidden keyhole mounts for wall use or can be used on the floor. You can purchase this hip feline tree online at www.unicahome.com.
HBO comedies parked on Sunday 'Entourage,' 'Conchords' returning in '08 By Nellie Andreeva Aug 18, 2007
"Flight of the Conchords" HBO has renewed its Sunday comedies, bringing the rookie "Flight of the Conchords" back for a second season and handing out a fifth-season pickup to the veteran "Entourage."
Both shows are slated to return with original episodes in 2008.
While the renewal of "Entourage" -- one of HBO's most popular series -- was widely expected, things weren't that certain for "Conchords," a quirky half-hour about two New Zealand musicians struggling to make it in New York.
The show starring the music-comedy duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie quickly developed a cult following but came up short of the broader appeal of "Entourage."
" 'Entourage' is a full-fledged cultural phenomenon, and 'Flight of the Conchords' has quickly become a show to watch," HBO Entertainment president Carolyn Strauss said. "I'm delighted that we'll be bringing new seasons of these distinctive series to our subscribers."
The pickups follow HBO's recent decision to cancel David Milch's new drama "John From Cincinnati" after one season and renew "Big Love" for a third cycle.
Next for the premium cable channel is the return of critics' favorite "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Wire," the debuts of "In Treatment" and "12 Miles of Bad Road" and the controversial "Tell Me You Love Me."
"Entourage" was created by Doug Ellin, who is executive producing the show with Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Rob Weiss. The Hollywood-centered comedy is nominated for four Emmys -- best comedy series, best supporting actor noms for last year's winner, Jeremy Piven, and Kevin Dillon and best guest actor Martin Landau.
"Conchords" is exec produced by Stu Smiley, James Bobin and Troy Miller.
I was so busy today! I had a little dinner party for some relatives visiting from Venezuela. Whenever I have to cook, I become Cookzilla! ARGH!!! I'm not used to this whole "cooking for guests" thing, so I was a little stressed out just making sure everything was perfect... but then I got home after grocery shopping and I saw that someone had bought three of my paintings, so I got very happy and was cheerful afterwards!
So anyway, sorry for the lack of posting activity today. Tomorrow I'll be back full-swing. :-)

Pillbox Productions makes brooches using recycled materials, like vintage wrapping papers, magazines, and comics. I have a wool coat that one of these would look great on.
I first spotted Thomas's work on the Design Milk blog and I was blown away by one of his projects titled Fractured Fairy Tales. I'm not one for clutter, but the colors and the use of a "grid" makes this installation so interesting to me! I love that clock tucked inside there, too. Wonderful!
Fashion Designer Rebecca Turbow makes really cool mod-inspired clothing and accessories. Her "Safe" clothing line uses a lot of aqua and sea foam greens - my favorite colors!
