Lightseed Hanging Candleholder

Lightseed Hanging Candleholder

Create a warm, inviting atmosphere with these Light Seed Candleholders. Hang them from the ceiling, insert the tealight and you've got a new décor for your home. Buy more than one and you can create your own light display. Cable and one tealight are included. Comes in a display box. Available in four colors: Blue, Pink, Brick and Green. Please note that you may find black dirt on the piece that you receive; this is caused by the soil from the stoneware on matte color during the heating process and is natural for this product.

On Sale! $9.99 each

My Weekend Adventure

So this past weekend I took a letterpress and book-binding workshop at Albertine Press. We started off Saturday working with lead type. I can't believe people used to use this type for making newspapers back in the day, it's very tedious work.

Our first project was to bring in a quote and arrange it with type anyway we liked. Shelley Barandes, who runs Albertine Press, showed us all the tricks on how to work with type and how to use her press. The press looked scary at first, but once you get the hang of if it it's a breeze. Also be sure to check out the Albertine Press Etsy shop.

Sunday was the book-binding part of the workshop, led by Angela Liguori. I had always wanted to learn about book-binding, but was a little intimidated by the whole process. I have to say when you see someone doing it it's so much easier to learn! Angela brought in beautiful papers, with which each person in the class made a soft-cover book and a hard-cover book. Later on she showed us some examples of other work she's made - absolutely stunning! Check out her Etsy shop.

Brooch display

I got creative last weekend and finally made a home for my brooches... well most of them. I think I'm going to have to make more of these, I don't think my brooch obsession is going to end anytime soon.

Center piece idea ~DIY~

I've had this idea of doing stick center pieces for a long time so I went outside today and collected a variety of dead twigs and weeds. Then I walked over to my local craft store and bought tons of pearls and white floral spray paint. I'm not sure if I will even go with this idea but I think it looks pretty so far...

Wedding

So it's official: I'm in the process of planning for my 5 year wedding anniversary. We never did a fancy wedding, it was a small affair with just close family and friends. So next year I'm going to make up for it with a winter "wedding" for my 5-year anniversary. I'm so excited! I will post a lot more wedding related topics and keep you all updated on all my plans.

Vintage Mugs

One item that always seems to fly off the shelves on Etsy is vintage mugs and cups from the 1950's to the 70's. As you can see by the cup collections below, people get addicted to collecting small beautiful things. :P

The Mystic River, Somerville/Medford MA

I took a walk today and I finally remembered to bring my camera. I enjoy walking around the Mystic River every other day. It's so peaceful and filled with so many birds, I walked under a hawk today and I saw a cute woodpecker.

I'm so lucky I found my apartment! Can you imagine seeing all this water and nature out your window while being so close to the city?
