Too many treasures

I love going to flea markets and thrift stores and I'm always picking up stuff for my vintage Etsy shop. Yes I have another shop, but it's been empty for a long time now. I wanted to collect enough stuff to have a full shop. My closets and garage can no longer hold any more things, so this week I'll be taking photo's and posting items. Keep checking in!

West Elm sale items

I keep going back to the West Elm site because I was hoping they would restock their double lounger outdoor cushion in white. I'm happy to say I see it up again, sadly it's not not part of their 15% outdoor sale, boo. I plan on getting one and having my husband build the actual lounger himself. I want him to start making me more things, I've got a long list!

So then I took a look at all the new items and then I looked at the sale items and I saw this cute duvet cover. I'm not sure what it is about this color that speaks to me, but I love it. Square-tuck duvet in dandelion.

More sale items I love:
john-paul philippé sketch 41"w x .75"d x 31"h $199.00 Sale $119.99
loft task lamp $99.00 Sale $74.99

Mid-Century Monday: Tony Paul

One of my readers informed me that the candlestick holders I got for only $3 at Goodwill were designed by Tony Paul.

He was born on February 28, 1918 in Bronx, NY and passed away last April. Tony was an industrial designer who began his designing career in the 1940s. His remarkable career spanned approximately 60 years and he continued to design well into his later years. His designs included furniture design, kitchenware design and lighting. Tony found a love and niche in lighting design, and continued that path for more than 20 years.

I guess the candlesticks I picked up were his first design, I have yet to find a price for them. I was originally planning on selling them, very glad I didn't.

Vintage reissued fabrics and wallpaper

I love collecting vintage paper and fabric. I have piles of old folded wrapping papers and bits and pieces of fabrics I find at flea makets. I never use them because I always think that they're too special to use, or that I'm waiting for that perfect project. Maybe when I die someone can use them, HA!

Fabric
Fabric designer Michael Miller is reissuing a bunch of vintage Tammis Keefe fabrics. 15 designs were issued, dogs, cats other adorable animals.

Wall Paper
This is a bold and iconic collection of wallpapers that celebrate a decade of design which transformed the boundaries of interior decoration. The Sanderson 50’s collection combines original 1950’s designs from the Sanderson archive with designs from contemporary artists who have taken great inspiration from this era.

I need your opinion

I've been thinking about getting fabric placemats made for a while now, but I've been a little afraid of picking the wrong design and color scheme... These won't be cheap to make!

So I need my readers' help: Please vote for your favorite color scheme on the survey below. I'll tally up the votes a few days from now and get the winning design made. Thanks for your help!

OK, so the options are:

A. Pink and Pea Green

B. Pea Green and Avocado

C. Pea Green and Lemon

D. Smoky Gray

I picked up a vintage replica of Picasso's Guernica at a flea market for a few dollars awhile back and now I find myself picking up bull artwork. I just nabbed this cute bronze colored bull sculpture below on Etsy. I can't wait to find him a home.

John-Paul Philippé for West Elm

Oh my, I want the whole collection!

John-Paul is a multi-talented painter and designer who divides his time between his Soho work studio, bucolic upstate home and roster of clients around the world. His distinctively modernist painting style put him on the map, and John-Paul now references this clean, graphic style in projects as diverse as furniture design, murals, large scale sculpture and even a private chapel in the Dominican Republic. John-Paul has also collaborated with Barneys New York on design components for a dozen stores, both in the U.S. and Japan.

Carpet floor tiles

I found some amazing carpet floor tiles at flor.com. I was never a big fan when they first came out, they reminded me something you would see in a doctors office. The new designs are really winning me over. I'd like to update the the carpet in the Foyer and under the dinning room table, two areas that get quite dirty. I'm really liking the black and white stripes (featured in the first picture). Also the website allows you to buy samples, 3 for $5.
