Flickr

I thought it would be fun to start a new Flickr group, one that has my art in your home or involved in a craft project. I so rarely ever get to see my art in people homes so I thought this would be a cool idea.

Not on Flickr and don't want to join? Well you can e-mail me (jennski at jennski dot com) the photo's and I can post them on my account.

Thanks! I can't wait to see your photos!

Yummy

For those who don't know, I had a children's animal scrapbooking line out last year in Michael's craft stores. Someone asked me about where they could still buy them, so I googled "Actopus to Zelephant" to find sites that were still selling it. Among the results, I found these adorable cupcakes based on my designs. They were made by a fellow blogger that runs Made to Create.

You can still find my Actopus to Zelephant line online on various sites:

Animal Alphabet

My animal flash cards at Michaels were the hot item of the bunch, but all good things come to an end. I've been getting desperate e-mails from so many people that they can no longer find the flash cards and I'm here to report that they will not be restocked. I did get an e-mail from someone searching hi and low and I'm happy to say they can still be found at www.scrapbook-creations.com. Thanks Heather!

Oh and this adorable baby photo above was posted over at tinydecorblog.com. One of her readers, Lisa, was inspired by her alphabet card display tutorial, that she decided to make her own. Once it was finished she took a picture of it with her adorable little boy. I just want squeeze those cheeks!

How cute!

This so made my day! One of my customers sent in some pictures of his daughters Natalie (7) and Ella (6) with their Jenn Ski-inspired pod art. Aren't these great?

Keep up the good work, girls!

Another satisfied customer!

Another one of my customers was nice enough to send me an image of her new nursery. I love the blue and green scheme! I'm not sure who made the other two prints, but they all look great together. The print she purchased was #P-2007-4.

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it any longer!

This past Monday I wrote that something exciting was going on, that I would talk about it soon, and that it was somehow related to the Hood Dairy company... Well, here's what's happening (drum roll, please): My artwork is going to be featured in a TV commercial for Hood Eggnog! Hood (a New England dairy company, for those of you outside their area of distribution) is introducing a new line of flavored eggnogs - Cinnamon, Pumpkin, Gingerbread and Sugar Cookie - which they are promoting on TV. I don't know the specifics about the script, but the commercial features a fabulous retro family whose house is decorated with, among other things, a number of pieces by yours truly. The commercial, entitled "Spice Up The Holidays", will air all over New England between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm so excited!

So here's how it all came together: I was contacted by Jim Kent on behalf of Airstream Pictures last Friday. He explained that they were shooting a commercial for Hood Eggnog, and they needed to dress up a mid-20th century home in Maine in a retro style. He had seen my work online, and thought it would be a great fit. Naturally, I said yes.

On the tightest of schedules, I had just a couple of days to come up with a ~3'x3' piece to cover a bookcase. Jim was incredibly accomodating, getting me the right size board himself, dropping it off, and then picking up the finished piece two days later - all while coordinating all the minutiae that goes into shooting a TV spot two states away! All in all, they used my new prints (which will be featured at the Design Nearby show), five paintings from my private collection, and the big, square, custom, bookcase-cover thing I made specially for them.

Here is a pano shot of the set. Can you spot my pieces there? (click to enlarge):

Here's a hint:

It looks so pretty! I can't wait for it to air! :-)

Thanks to Jim Kent, the Garrand Agency, and HP Hood.

Another satisfied costumer

Another one of my costomers was nice enough to send me an image of one of my prints on her beautiful wall. The top print in the picture is by artist Qiana L. Pucel, who has been featured on this blog before; the bottom one is #P-2007-6, by yours truly. Don't they look cute together?

Another satisfied customer!

I like to ask my customers for pictures of my art on their walls, and one of them has sent me these wonderful pictures of her place. It makes me so incredibly happy to see my art on someone else's walls! For those of you just tuning in, I've only really started selling my art in the last two months or so, so to know that someone enjoys my art enough to hang it on their walls and look at it everyday... Well, it's a new experience for me, and it makes me giggle with happiness! :-)

The pieces are (from left to right):
P-2007-3
P-2007-16
P-2007-2

Thanks Lisa for sending me these pictures, your place looks fabulous!
